Iraqi FM urges inspecting Israeli N-installations
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari on Saturday called for inspecting Israeli nuclear installations by international bodies.
He made the remarks while addressing the 1st International Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation which started this morning IN Tehran .
He underlined the need for continuation of Israeli nuclear activities under the supervision of international organizations.
Iraq is the victim of the past policies and ignoring international commitments, Zebari noted.
Baghdad condemns making use of weapons of mass destruction and believes in combating nuclear weapons, he said.
Underlining the strategic importance of the Middle East region, he said any increase in the regional nuclear weapons would have negative impacts on establishment of regional peace.
The Iraqi government is interested in a Mideast free from nuclear weapons and calls for annihilation of weapons of mass destruction, the Iraqi FM reiterated.
Condemning nuclear threats against the Islamic Republic, he called for diplomatic talks to end such threats.
He said making use of peaceful nuclear energy is the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation, adding that Baghdad supports a balanced approach towards the Iranian nuclear dossier.
