Palestinian plight political leprosy
Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani is in Turkey to attend an inter-parliamentary conference on Israel’s plan to expand illegal settlements.
The three-day emergency meeting organized by the Organization of the Islamic Conference comes as Israel continues defying international calls to stop its settlement expansion projects on annexed Palestinian lands.
“The forced migration of Palestinians from the occupied territories is political leprosy,” Larijani told reporters upon arriving in Istanbul on Sunday.
Denouncing Israel’s settlement plans in al-Quds (Jerusalem), he went on to warn that the “sensitive” matter demands international attention.
“Iran will propose the formation of a permanent committee to follow up on the Palestine-Gaza issue,” Larijani said.
