3 dead in Iran oil well blaze
Three people have been killed and 12 injured in an oil well ‘conflagration’ in the city of Qasr-e-Shirin in southwestern Iran.
“Firefighters are still battling the blaze which has not been brought under control yet”, said Qasr-e-Shirin Governor Bahram Taymouri.
He said the fire broke out at 6:35 a.m. local time on Saturday due to a ‘gas leak’ from drilling gear.
“Six of the injured are in critical condition”, said the top official.
He underlined other oil facilities in the city are safe as they are far away from the blazing oil well.
