Israel-Lebanon clash kills four
Clashes between Lebanese troops and Israeli forces have left at least three Lebanese soldiers and a senior Israeli army officer dead, according to Lebanese media.
Three other Lebanese soldiers were also injured in the fighting on Tuesday.
Israeli soldiers launched several rockets targeting a village in southern Lebanon.
The violence broke out after Israeli troops uprooted a tree on the Lebanese side, according to Lebanese officials.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s President Michel Sleiman said any violation into Lebanese territory by Israel is a breach of the UN Resolution 1701, which ended Israel’s war against Lebanon in 2006.
He added that the Lebanese army will confront such moves at any cost.
