Iranian companies attend Caracas expo
More than 30 Iranian companies have put their products and latest achievements on show in an exhibition in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.
Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian arrived in Caracas on Wednesday evening to open the event which runs from August 26-29.
He was received by his Venezuelan counterpart Richard Canan upon his arrival at Simon Bolivar International Airport.
Mehrabian is scheduled to hold business meetings in Venezuela and review the level of commercial activities between the two countries.
Canan, who is Venezuela’s minister of commerce, said economic ties with Tehran was highly important for Caracas and expressed hope that the exhibition would provide an opportunity for Venezuelan businessmen to acquire a share in Iranian companies.
According to IRIB news website, the Iranian companies taking part in the exhibition are active in the fields of auto manufacturing, machinery, oil and gas sector, electrical home appliances and carpet industry.
The last two exhibitions by Iranian companies in Venezuela centered on water and electricity industries.
