Israeli embassy capture, a turning point- Velayati
Aide to The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei described the capture of Zionist regime’s embassy in Cairo by Egyptian youths as a turning point in the regional developments.
Ali Akbar Velayati was speaking to reporters several days before a first international conference in Tehran next week on the current Islamic Awakening which he would directs as secretary general.
Velayati said the conference will pursue the fate of missing Lebanese Alim Imam Moussa Sadr as one of the main topics of the conference.
“At first some 500 scholars and intellectuals from 80 world countries were invited to participate in the event, but the figure rose to 600 due to huge enthusiasm of foreign personalities especially from Europe and America,” he said.
The two-day conference will begin work in Tehran on September 17.
