Commander Dismisses Israel's War Rhetoric against Iran as Boastful Lie
A senior Iranian military official mocked Israeli Air Force commander’s recent war rhetoric against Iran, and described it as the January lie.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Basij and Defense Culture Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri said on Monday that the threatening remarks by Israeli Air Force Commander Major General Amir Eshel “is more like the January lie”.

Amir Eshel had claimed late in December that Iran is continuing on its nuclear path and “the IAF is preparing itself so that all options are truly on the table”.

In reply, Jazzayeri, who is also spokesman of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, pointed to Israel’s consecutive defeats and failures in the 2006 war in Lebanon and 22-day war on the Gaza Strip in December 2008, and said, “The Zionist regime of Israel lacks the ability to step into any serious war.”

He added that the regime has gained a superficial power through psychological warfare by imperialist media, “but the regime is suffering from chronic rottenness and decadence intrinsically and this reality will soon be unveiled for all”.

Israel and its close ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads.

Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

The Zionist regime has recently intensified its war rhetoric against Tehran, warning that it plans to hit Iranian nuclear facilities.

Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv.

The United States has also always stressed that military action is a main option for the White House to deter Iran’s progress in the field of nuclear technology.

In response, Iran has warned it would hit the US, Israel and their worldwide interests and close the strategic Strait of Hormuz if it became the target of a military attack over its nuclear program.

Strait of Hormuz, the entrance to the strategic Persian Gulf waterway, is a major oil shipping route.
