Israeli tanks shell Gaza, injure 2 Palestinians

Israeli tanks have fired shells at the impoverished Gaza Strip, injuring at least two Palestinians bystanders.
The Palestinians were struck by shells fired by Israeli regime’s tanks which struck an open area in east of al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza on Sunday.
Palestinian medics, meanwhile, stated that the victims are in moderate condition.
The Israeli military, however, claimed that it was unaware of any such attack.
The Israeli regime has recently intensified its military operations against the enclave.
Last week, Israeli warplanes bombarded the territory, killing at least two Palestinians, including a three-year-old girl, and wounding several others.
Another Palestinian was wounded by Israeli troops in southern Gaza nearly 10 days ago.
The Israeli military often targets Palestinians along the border with the Gaza Strip, which remains literally cut off from the outside world by a crippling Israeli blockade.
The siege has turned the densely-populated coastal sliver, home to some 1.7 million Palestinians, into the largest open-air prison in the world.
Tel Aviv has imposed the crippling blockade on the Gaza Strip since 2007.
According to the Palestinian rights groups, over a dozen Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the first half of 2013 and nearly 1,800 Palestinians, including women and children, were seized during the same period.
