Aoun: Deal with Hezbollah Contributed to Lebanon’s Security, Stability
The head of Change and Reform Parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun said Friday that bridges of trust between Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement protected Lebanon from security shakes.
On the ninth anniversary of the memorandum of understanding with Hezbollah, Aoun expressed satisfaction at the achievements reached, stating that “all internal events could shake the internal situation, but the deal helped maintain stability.”
“The national interest required to maintain stability and security in the country,” he added during an interview with local channel OTV, noting that any party can join the deal.
Moreover, Aoun underlined that “the deal has sometimes exceeded its content to a stronger and harder one, because the events imposed solidarity.”
