Syria a symbol of fight against extremism: Deputy FM
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian Foreign Ministry Deputy Faisal al-Miqdad here on Friday.
Amir-Abdollahian, while stressing the issue of Syria among Iran’s top priorities, said the stability of Syria during four years of crisis is due to the resistance of Syrian nation and government, indicating that the country has become today the role model in the fight against terrorism and extremism in Muslim and Arab World.
Syrian Foreign Ministry Deputy, visiting Tehran for consultations on developments in Syria, while describing ties between Syria and Iran beyond a strategic relationship, appreciated the support of the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran during Syrian fight against imposed crisis.
“Syria hails Iran’s correct understanding and recognition of the developments in Syria since the beginning of the crisis,” Faisal al-Miqdad added.
We are heading towards victory, he said, emphasizing that Syria owes its victories to the supports by its real friends, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran.
