Lebanon’s Hezbollah Reiterates Iran’s Key Role in Boosting Regional Security
Deputy Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Sheikh Naeem Qassem said the regional nations should use the role model of Iran’s economic, political, military, and ideological capabilities to thwart enemies’ divisive plots.
Speaking in a ceremony in Beirut on Saturday to mark the 36th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Sheikh Qassem said Iran is the supporter of regional security and all regional countries need Iran to protect their borders, political systems and people.
“While the world had been divided into capitalist and communist blocs, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Late Imam Khomeini declared that the revolution relies on neither of them,” said the Hezbollah official.
Sheikh Qassem said Iran is a role model for making an independent power and free decision making.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized it is in favor of Lebanon to follow three principles that Iran has always adhered to.
These principles, according to Qassem, are not following East or West, struggle to emancipate Palestine, and Islamic and national unity for resistance.
In January, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined the country’s continued all-out support for the resistance groups, including the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s position on the Zionist regime is unchangeable, and given the fact that the resistance stream is standing against the Zionists and the terrorist and Takfiri groups, we will make our utmost efforts to support and strengthen Hezbollah and the resistance of the Lebanese people,” Dehqan told reporters in Tehran at the time.
