ISIL militants destroy mosque in Mosul again
Takfiri militants belonging to the ISIL terrorist groups have demolished a mosque in al-Shifa district in the Iraqi city of Mosul.
According to al-Smuaria news, the militants destroyed the mosque’s building that dates back to the 12th century C.E. and plundered its belongings on Saturday night.
The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) control swathes of land in Syria and Iraq.
The ISIL started its campaign of terror in Iraq in early June 2014. The heavily-armed militants took control of Mosul before sweeping through parts of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.
The terror group has been carrying out horrific acts of violence including public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
Earlier this month, members of the Takfiri terrorist group burned to death sixteen people in Mosul.
