Body of missing Saudi national found
Rescuers in northern Iran have found the body of the Saudi national who went missing on board a trainer plane last week.
The deputy governor of Mazandaran Province announced Tuesday that the body of the missing individual was found earlier in the day in Nashtarood beaches west of the province.
Ali Nabiyan said search is underway to find the body of the Iranian pilot, IRNA reported.
On February 2, a small trainer plane disappeared minutes after takeoff from a local airport in the city of Ramsar, Mazandaran. An Iranian and a Saudi national were aboard the plane when it disappeared somewhere between Ramsar and Tonekabon, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) north of the capital, Tehran.
The rescue operation started upon the plane’s disappearance, with rescue teams, comprised of rangers and mountaineers, scouring a vast area covering the mountainous regions along the Caspian Sea coastline.
Back in August 2012, the fuselage of a missing trainer was found one month after it went missing near the city of Rudsar, Gilan Province, located south of the Caspian Sea.
