US-israel affiliated Boko Haram Terrorists kill 5 in first attack inside Chad
Militants with the Nigeria-based terrorist group Boko Haram have carried out their first attack inside neighboring Chad, killing five people.
The attack took place against a village and military camp on the shores of Lake Chad on Friday. The fatalities were four civilians and one soldier.
The militants were subsequently pushed back.
On Wednesday, Chadian troops, positioned in Gamboru, a town on Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, repelled an attack by the Takfiri militants.
Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and Benin have pledged to create an 8,700-strong force to fight the Boko Haram militancy.
According to AFP, the violence fueled by Boko Haram militants has killed at least 13,000 people and rendered more than a million others homeless since 2009.
Nigeria’s National Security Advisor Sambo Dasuki said on February 9 that an ongoing multilateral offensive against Boko Haram will root out the Takfiri group within six weeks.
The official said, “All known Boko Haram camps will be taken out. They won’t be there. They will be dismantled.”
