Lebanese soldiers attack ISIL terrorists on border with Syria
Lebanon’s army soldiers have reportedly driven back the ISIL Takfiri terrorists from two hilltop positions on the northeastern border with Syria, confiscating explosive materials, Press TV said.
Bodies of three suspected ISIL terrorists were discovered by the Lebanese troops after they captured terrorists’ positions on the outskirts of Ras Baalbek, the Beirut-based Daily Star reported Thursday, citing a security source.
According to the source, most of the Syria-based terrorists, believed to be linked to ISIL, retreated following the army offensive that was backed by artillery shelling.
The source further described the assault as a preemptive attack that was carried out after the Lebanese soldiers fortified fixed positions along the Syrian border.
