Saudi special forces involved in Yemen

Saudi special forces are reportedly involved in the kingdom’s aggression against neighboring Yemen as Riyadh continues to defy international calls for a halt to its deadly airstrikes on the country.
An unnamed Saudi adviser confirmed on Saturday that Saudi army and naval special forces have carried out specific operations in Yemen, AFP reported.
He added that the army and naval special forces have provided the militants in Yemen with “coordination and guidance” against Ansarullah fighters.
The Saudi official stressed that Riyadh’s forces “will continue their engagement” with the militants.
Aid “will come when we are able to set the conditions (so) that this aid will benefit the population,” Saudi Brigadier General Ahmed Assiri told reporters in the Saudi capital.
Houthi fighters continue advancing southward, while they have also stepped up fighting against al-Qaeda terrorists and secured many areas from the militants.
Saudi Arabia’s air campaign in Yemen started on March 26 in a bid to restore power to fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. Some 10 other countries later joined the airstrikes.
Naval forces have provided supporters of Hadi with “coordination and guidance” to enable them to launch attacks on the Houthi Ansarullah fighters, the advisor said.
On Thursday, Saudi ambassador to the US, Adel al-Jubeir, denied the presence of Saudi forces in Aden, saying, “We don’t have troops, formal Saudi troops in Aden.”The issue of ground troops is “on the table but the decisions will be made depending on the circumstances and the need,” Jubeir noted.
Special forces “will continue their engagements” with Hadi loyalists, the advisor further stressed.
She added that 1,700 people have been also wounded during clashes between rival groups in Yemen and due to the Saudi strikes against the country.
