16 April 2015 18:46

Senior cleric Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaigani said on Thursday that the foreign ministry should adopt a strategy to cut off hands of tyrants from Yemen.

Ayatollah Golpaigani made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hassan Amir Abdollahian on Thursday.

Saudi rulers should understand that their criminal actions will have grave consequences and they should be accountable for their acts of bloodshed, massacre and looting, said the senior cleric.

Innocent children, women, elderly people and the youths have been victimized in the hands of criminals, said the Ayatollah adding that the Arab countries and world Muslims should take timely action and support the Yemeni people

‘Why have international organizations particularly the United Nations kept mum on carnage of innocent people in Yemen?’ questioned the Ayatollah.

Fortunately, the Iranian foreign ministry has taken proper action to this end and these measures should be continued, he said.

Foreign ministry should precisely follow up regional developments in order to take timely action, he said.

Amir Abdollahian, for his part briefed Ayatollah Safi Golpaigani on regional developments and the airstrikes of Saudi Arabia on Yemen.

During his one-day stay in Qom, Amir Abdollahian conferred with a number of Ulemas on issues of mutual concerns.

The meetings were held behind closed doors.
