Syria: Street War Rages on in Aleppo Neighborhoods
Military sources in Syria said several neighborhoods in Aleppo city, and villages and towns in its countryside were the scenes of heavy clashes between the Syrian Army and the insurgents.
An informed source told FNA that the militants’ concentration centers in Old Aleppo and al-Rashideen neighborhoods in Aleppo city were strongly targeted by the Syrian army men, which resulted in the killing and wounding of scores of them.
Insurgents’ strongholds in al-Atareb town to the West of Aleppo city also came under a raid by the army men, other sources said, addnig that scores of militants were killed and dozens more were captures in the clashes.
The militant groups in the nearby areas of Air Force Academy and al-Lyramoun in the Northern part of Aleppo city sustained heavy losses in the army attack on their strongholds.
Since 2011, Syria has been faced massive insurgency created by the certain Western countries and their regional allies that staged a propagandistic war against Damascus.
At the beginning of crisis, certain western powers and their regional allies said Syrian protests have no diplomatic solution, and then they started supplying the country’s opposition groups with arms and funds.
But ever since Summer 2014, specially after the victory of President Bashar al-Assad in the country’s presidential election, the army has gained the upper hand in its anti-terrorism campaign, and has been partly successful in sealing borders with Turkey and Jordan.
