Ansarullah: Saudi War on Yemen Meant to Serve US, Israel
A senior Ansarullah leader said Riyadh is fighting a proxy war on behalf of Washington and Tel Aviv in Yemen, and underlined that the Yemeni revolutionary movement will give a devastating response to the Saudi regime’s aggressions.
“Saudi Arabia is a protégé of the US and Israel and the ongoing war against Yemen has been waged at the order of the US and Israel,” Sheikh Fouad al-Mershadi, cultural director of Mustaqbal al-Adala Movement affiliated to Ansarullah, told FNA on Saturday.
Sheikh al-Mershadi reiterated that the Yemenis are equipped with home-made rockets, and added that Ansarullah has succeeded in pushing back Saudi Arabia 20 kilometers inside its borders.
“Today Yemen is engaged in a civil war and Ansarullah is purging Yemen of ISIL and other Takfiri groups.”
He pointed to the incentives and goals pursued by Saudi Arabia through attacking Yemen, and said, “Saudi Arabia likes to keep Yemen under its control and dominance.”
A delegation from Ansarullah traveled to Oman last Saturday to study ways to reach a solution to the problems in Yemen.
A source said in March that Oman was making considerable diplomatic efforts to persuade the coalition of Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia to stop conducting airstrikes against Yemen and return to the dialogue.
The source said that Omani diplomats were approaching the politicians from Persian Gulf states and beyond in an attempt to put an end to their hostilities as the conflict in Yemen is likely to have a negative impact on the whole region.
The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 4,132 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
