More than three dozen civilians have been injured in two bomb explosions in the western Syrian city of Homs.

A police source told Syrian official SANA news agency on Sunday that a minibus packed with 500 kilograms of explosives detonated near a school in Karm al-Lawz neighborhood in the city.

At least 27 passers-by were injured in the bomb blast which also caused heavy damage to the citizens’ cars, houses and shops in the area.

In a separate similar explosion in Homs, terrorists detonated an explosive device planted inside a minibus near the city’s fire department. At least 10 civilians were reportedly injured.

The injured civilians were taken to al-Za’im hospital, where a medical source said five of the victims are women with severe injuries.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but such attacks have been frequently committed by ISIL Takfiri group and al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri groups that are fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Crisis has gripped Syria for more than four years.Western powers and some of their regional allies – especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey – are financially and logistically backing the militants. In excess of 222,000 people have been killed in the conflict so far, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says.
