Tens of Saudi-Backed Mercenaries Killed in Yemen’s Taiz Province
“Tens of terrorists backed up by the Saudi security service were killed during the clashes with fighters of Hamdan tribe in Yemen,” Spokesman of the tribe Abu Ali al-Hamdani told FNA today.
Noting that Ansarullah and the Yemeni army have sent weapons and military equipment to the Hamdan tribesmen, he said that there are yet no reports on the exact number of terrorists’ casualties in Taiz.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 139 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
The Monarchy’s attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 5,381 civilians, mostly women and children.
