Hezbollah, Syrian Army Give Rebels 72-Hour Ultimatum to Surrender in Zabadani
The sources said that the news comes eight hours after militant groups launched a counter-offensive from Wadi al-Barada to capture the territories they lost over the course of last 40 days due to the full-scale siege that was imposed by the Syrian army and Hezbollah in Al-Zabadani.
Mahata district of Al-Zabadani is the rebels’ last stronghold in the city.
In the meantime, Hezbollah and the Syrian army captured more rebel positions along Barada Street, while also advancing North towards Ahrar Al-Sham and Nusra’s large base.
The 48 hour ceasefire that was implemented on Wednesday did not aid the rebels very much, as they neither surrendered the whole city nor improved their positions inside the Mahata district.
