The Iranian official said the cooperation between Tehran and Damascus regarding humanitarian assistance is “a positive measure,” adding that the Islamic Republic views helping the Syrian nation as its duty`.

Larijani also praised the Syrian government and people for bearing hardships in the fight against terrorism. He also highlighted the large number of civilians killed in the crisis. The Iranian official stressed the need to provide medical aid for Syria and help the treatment of the wounded.

“At the present time, the situation in Syria is unique and I hope that soon we witness the victory of the Syrian government and people in the fight against terrorist groups,” Larijani stated.

“The Islamic Republic has always helped the Syrian government and nation during the current crisis and will spare no help in the future,” he added.

The Syrian minister, for his part, appreciated Iran’s help for the Syrian people. Yazigi said the Syrian people are in dire need of medical and pharmaceutical support.
