Two Syrian civilians killed, 3 injured in militant mortar attacks
At least two civilians have lost their lives in separate mortar attacks carried out by foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants against residential areas in Syria’s capital city of Damascus.
A local police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two civilians were killed and three others sustained injuries when a barrage of mortar shells fired by the militants struck neighborhoods across the city on Friday, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported.
The official added that the projectiles also caused damage to several houses at the targeted areas and charred two cars parked there.
The developments came only a day after 11 people, among them three young girls, were injured when mortar shells struck areas across Damascus.
On Wednesday, terrorists launched a number of mortar shells at a gas station in Inshaat neighborhood of Homs, located 162 kilometers (101 miles) north of Damascus, leaving five civilians dead and 30 others injured.
