Bahrain Admits 5 Soldiers Killed in Yemen Toshka Operation
Bahrain announced Friday that five of its soldiers were killed in southern Saudi Arabia where they had been posted to take a part in the hostilities against the Yemeni people.
Bahrain is a member of a Saudi-led Arab coalition that, since March, has battled Yemen under the pretext of restoring the rule of fugitive President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi.
The Bahraini armed forces command, in a statement carried by state news agency BNA, claimed that the soldiers were killed “while defending the southern border of the Saudi kingdom” but gave no details on the circumstances.
Earlier on Friday, the Yemeni army and the Popular Committees launched a decisive military attack on a Saudi arms depot blast at a military base in eastern Yemen by firing Toshka missiles.
The operation claimed the lives of 100 military personnel, including 22 Emiratis, 16 Saudis and 5 Bahrainis.
