Sayyed Hakim calls for implementation of agreements between Tehran and Baghdad
Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Sayyed Ammar Hakim on Monday called for implementation of the already signed agreements between Iran and Iraq.
Sayyed Hakim made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth Mahmoud Goudarzi.
‘We expect the agreements between the two countries to become operational and do not remain mere agreements any more,’ Hakim said.
Sayyed Hakim also underlined the need for cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the area of sport and the youth, particularly women’s sport.
He expressed hope that exchange of visits to Tehran and Baghdad by Iraqi and Iranian officials would help further promote bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, the Iranian minister underlined the necessity for enhanced cooperation between the two neighboring countries, particularly in the area of sports and the youth.
Goudarzi voiced Tehran’s readiness to share experiences with Baghdad about women’s sports.
