FM blames Qatar for fueling sectarian differences in Iraq
Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari lashed out at the Qatari officials for their interferences in his country’s internal affairs.
He condemned participation of members of the Iraqi Ba’ath party of Saddam Hussein and the militants in a conference in Doha.
“The conference is not a positive message for the Iraqi people. It does not serve our relations and Arabic relations in general,” al-Jafari said.
“Noteworthy, Doha hosted a political conference on the Iraqi issue without the knowledge of the Iraqi government, with the participation of” some of the wanted figures to the Iraqi judiciary on charges of supporting terrorism,” the top Iraqi minister went on to say.
Iraq, on many occasions, has accused the government of Qatar of supporting terrorism in the country and financing the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group and the dissolved Ba’ath Party.
