Syrian Dissident Leader Praises Slain Iranian General
A senior Syrian dissident leader lauded Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Brigadier General Hossein Hamadani, who was killed in Northern Syria on Thursday.
“The martyrdom of Brigadier General Hamadani sent the Iranian nation’s message to the entire world that the relations with Syria cannot be impaired, specially now that the Russian attacks have started in Syria and certain media have spread rumors about Iran-Syria ties,” Secretary-General of al-Talia opposition party Noufal Noufal told FNA on Monday.
He said that Iran’s military advice to the Syrian army against the terrorist groups is as important as Russia’s airstrikes against the terrorists’ positions, and added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran showed during the crisis in Syria that it is the real brother of the Arab country.”
Noufal underscored that the martyrdom of Brigadier General Hamadani refuted all the Persian Gulf littoral states’ media rumors that Russia’s airstrikes in Syria had angered Iran for fading out Tehran’s role in the Syrian battle ground.
General Hamadani was killed in Northern Syria on Thursday, while providing military counseling services to the Syrian forces in their fight against the Takfiri terrorists.
Brigadier General Hamadani was martyred during an attack by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in the outskirts of the city of Aleppo while fulfilling his duty as military advisor and defending the holy Shiite shrines in the country, the IRGC said in a statement on Friday.
General Hamadani was in Syria to render military advice to the Syrian army and popular forces in their fight against the ISIL terrorists in the Arab country.
In relevant remarks on Saturday, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined that the death of Brigadier General Hamadani would make his followers and forces more determined to continue his path and crush the terrorists in Syria.
“The comrades and companions of General Hamadani will continue his path and by completely destroying the criminal ISIL Takfiri terrorist group, they will take revenge from the ISIL for all the martyrs of the resistance front as well as the women, children and men who have been killed by the mercenaries of the arrogant powers,” General Dehqan said, addressing a mourning ceremony at General Hamadani’s house.
The Iranian Defense Minister reiterated that the martyrdom of General Hamadani would open a new chapter in the ongoing fight of the resistance front against the Takfiri terrorists.
General Dehqan reiterated that General Hamadani played an important role in the resistance front and his martyrdom proved the righteousness of the front.
