Sunni cleric: Loyalty to Ahlul Bayt (AS), way for Islamic unity
Lebanese cleric rejected Saudi Arabia as the representative of the Sunni world saying that the affection for Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the grounds for boosting solidarity among Muslims.
Sheikh Sharif al Zaher, senior Lebanese cleric, referred to the history of religious disagreements among different Islamic denominations calling that the biggest issue among Muslims stressing the once Muslims overcome this problem, then they can achieve their objectives, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Member of the Society of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon said,” Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has been playing a leading role in expansion of Islamic unity.” adding,” Does not Al Quds Mosque suffice to unite all Muslims as their joint first praying direction? Should not Muslims get together to liberate the holy mosque from Jews?”
Top Sunni scholar stressed that a way to get rid of the present disagreements and intrigues among Shia and Sunni communities is loyalty and affection for Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
He urged all Muslims to struggle for liberation of Palestinian lands and support the third Intifada of the oppressed nation.
Sheikh Sharif al Zaher noted that Saudi Arabia recognizes itself as the leader of the Sunni world while Sunni Muslims reject this claim warning that the kingdom is not satisfied over the achievements of the Islamic Republic and added, “No Arab is leveled higher than a non-Arab or Persian except for his chastity.”
Society of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon was launched to boost Islamic unity, a society which comprises members from Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and Syria.
US and the Zionist regime are hatching plots in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine and the efforts by Society of Muslim scholars of Lebanon is in line with spreading Islamic unity among the younger generation since all members of the Muslim world share the same God, Qibla (praying direction), holy book and one prophet.
