Yemeni Troops Gain New Victory in War against Saudi Arabia

Yemeni Troops Gain New Victory in War against Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni army troops and popular committees purged the Saudi-backed terrorist fighters from the mountains located between Al-Amri Garrison and Zabab governor’s building in the province of Ta’iz.

The military gains by the Yemeni forces come while Saudi Arabia is trying to bring into a deadlock the Geneva conference that aims to halt the Saudi aggression on Yemen and break the siege of the Yemeni cities.

In the city of Ta’iz, the Yemeni army and popular forces in a successful counterattack foiled the raid of the Saudi-backed militants that was waged from all fronts.

Meantime, the Yemeni troops defeated the well-equipped militant groups who enjoyed the aerial backup of the Saudi air force over Zabab, Sabr and Al-Madina in Southern Yemen.

The Yemeni forces also won back Zabab region, Al-Amri garrison and Brigade 117 Camp.

“We took control over Brigade 117 in Zabab region and we are now advancing towards al-Mozareba region in the province of Lahij,” a Yemeni military commander said.

Meantime, the Yemeni army blocked the Saudi-backed militants’ advancing in Al-Zabab front and they tightened the military siege of al-Masrakh region located behind the Southern passage of Al-Zabab city; the region has been the scene of heavy clashes that have forced the militant groups to withdraw and resulted in cutting the supply routes to these regions.

“They were defeated with all their equipment in the past and this will happen in future again; God willingly we promise the Yemeni nation and all the Arab ummah to continue defending our land,” a Yemeni soldier said.

On Friday, the Yemeni army and the popular forces seized back several strategic regions in the Yemeni provinces of Ta’iz and Zale, and purged the regions from pro-Hadi militias and Saudi troops.

The Yemeni forces took control of a number of villages in Damet region in Zale province, and killed tens of terrorists in heavy clashes.

The army and popular forces also advanced from al-Qassr region towards Klabe in Ta’iz province.

On Wednesday, Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and army troops killed a ranking Saudi commander and dozens of his forces in Ta’iz.

The Yemeni forces took control of a military base that had been occupied by Saudi forces in Ta’iz province a while ago, and killed a senior Saudi commander and his troops deployed in the base.

Saudi troops later launched a counter-offensive to take back the base, but they failed and escaped the region after losing a number of their vehicles.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 227 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,920 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures; FNA reported.
