Iran’s Larijani urges global determination against terrorism

15 November 2015 8:34

Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani has condemned recent terrorist attacks in France and Lebanon, urging global determination in the fight against terrorism.

In a Saturday message to President of National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone, Larijani described the bloody terror attacks in Paris on Friday as an inhuman act.

“Unfortunately, the world has been witnessing such inhuman crimes and incidents over the past years, which have resulted in nothing but the killing of defenseless people and the creation of chaos and insecurity,” the Iranian official said.

Larijani expressed hope that determination of the international community to fight terrorism would lead to the establishment of peace and security across the world.

About 130 people were killed and roughly 350 injured, nearly 100 of whom in critical condition, after assailants struck at least six different venues in and around the French capital, Paris, late on Friday.

In a statement on Saturday, the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group claimed responsibility for the bloody attacks.

Condemnation of terrorist attacks in Lebanon

In separate messages to Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday, the Iranian Majlis speaker denounced the killing of innocent people in a terrorist attack in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

He said the attack in the Lebanese capital once again underlined the importance of boosting unity in fighting terrorism and extremism.

The Iranian official added that the attack would further strengthen determination of the brave Lebanese people and Muslim nations to eliminate terrorism.

On Thursday, 44 people were killed and nearly 240 others were injured when two large explosions rocked a security post in Hussaineya Street in the crowded Borj al-Barajneh neighborhood in a southern suburb of Beirut.

The Daesh Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the Beirut bombings.
