US-israel’s Terror Toy ISIL threatens to attack NYC in propaganda video
The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group has released a new propaganda video threatening to attack New York, America’s most populous city, following the terrorist attacks in Paris, France.
The roughly six-minute video displays images of suicide bombers getting prepared to strike, followed by footage from the city’s iconic spots including Times Square and Herald Square.
New York City officials confirmed Thursday that the terror group has indeed threatened to wreak havoc there, but said they have yet to track any viable threat.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio held a press conference with Police Commissioner William Bratton in Times Square, saying that there is no “specific and credible threat” against the city.
Bratton agreed with the mayor, saying that there was nothing new about the video, which he called “hastily produced.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the agency was aware of news reports about the ISIL video and will fully investigate the matter.
In a Thursday statement, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said the footage shows that the city remains a major target for terrorists.
The NYPD reassured New Yorkers that “we will remain at a heightened state of vigilance and will continue to work with the FBI, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the entire intelligence community to keep the City of New York safe.”
In an earlier clip, the terrorist organization had threatened to “strike America at its center in Washington,” with similar attacks to those that were carried out in the French capital, Paris.
Daesh has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks in Paris that killed at least 132 people on Friday night.
Mostly active in Iraq and Syria, the group has managed to expand its campaign of terror into other countries including Libya, Egypt and Afghanistan.
The Takfiri group puts out propaganda videos that depict gruesome beheadings and summary executions. Daesh also runs a very effective social media campaign aimed at recruiting foreigners.
