The Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) continued their advance against the militant groups in Lattakia and seized full control over four more strategic villages after hours of fierce clashes with the militants on Tuesday.

The pro-government forces pushed back the militants from the villages of Arafat al-Tahta and Arafat al-Fawqa in the Jub al-Ahmar of the Prophet Jonah Mountains and restored full security to the village and its surroundings.

Meantime, the Syrian army troops and the NDF fighters took back the villages of Raweesat Sheikhou and Katf Al-Salat in the Prophet Jonah Mountains, after killing several militants in their raid.

The Syrian forces defeated the militant groups also on Monday, when they made a major advance against militant groups in the Northern part of the coastal province of Lattakia, specially in its mountainous areas near border with Turkey.

The sources said that the Syrian army and popular forces’ joint operation in the Northern territories of the Lattakia province have ended in recapturing Kishkar mountain.

The sources further added that the militant groups have left behind many dead or wounded members and retreated from the battlefield.
