ISIS Staggers as the Tiger Forces Advance in East Aleppo
The battle for east Aleppo has taken the turn for the worse for the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) as they continue to concede several kilometers of territory to the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” in just a short period of time.
Since the Tiger Forces lifted the siege at the Kuweires Military Airport, ISIS has been on the run, abandoning several villages and hilltops due to the scarcity of provisions and the shortage of manpower against the large battalions of the Syrian Arab Army and Hezbollah.
Unfortunately for ISIS, the situation did not get any better for them on Monday as they lost the ‘Aqulah Farms that are located at the southeastern perimeter of ‘Aqulah village; this loss has allowed for the Syrian Armed Forces to gain access to the strategic hilltops that ISIS used to fire repeated rounds of mortar shells and rockets into the Kuweires Military Airport.
North of the Kuweries Military Airport, the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Hezbollah – seized more points along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway, pushing further east of the Kuweries Military Airport and the village of Rasm ‘Abboud.
Currently, firefights are still ongoing at the Tal Humaymah-Humaymah Kabeera axis, where the Syrian Armed Forces are trying to fight their way into this village.
