On Sunday morning inside the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard – in coordination with the SAA’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division, the Shaytat Tribesmen, and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – continued their counter-attack at the Al-Sina’a District (Industrial District), striking the terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the eastern sector of this industrial area. The Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade and their allies began their assault at 8:45 A.M. (Damascus time) on Sunday morning when hundreds of their soldiers stormed ISIS’ frontline defenses at the eastern sector of the Al-Sina’a District, killing as many as 25 enemy combatants from the aforementioned terrorist group before the nightfall dissipated the fighting inside the city. According to a military source inside of Deir Ezzor City, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade and their allies advanced at the Al-Sina’a District, capturing several buildings from the ISIS terrorist forces, including the welding and sewing factories. The Syrian Armed Forces are currently involved in a fierce battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham for control of the Al-Sina’a District; this area has been the scene of some of the most intense firefights taking place inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate over the last 48 hours.
