Yemeni Hezbollah Fighters Shoot down Saudi Arabia Drone in Ta’izz
The unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by Yemeni forces backed by fighters from the popular committees in the area of Jahmaliyeh, local media reported on Monday.
The high-tech spy drone was used to gather intelligence on troop arrangements as well as other military purposes, Yemen’s al-Masirah TV quoted a Yemeni army source as saying.
Yemeni forces have targeted several Saudi drones over Yemen since the start of the northern neighbor’s aggression.
The Saudi military aggression against the Yemeni nation has been going on amid relative international silence since March 26.
About 7,500 people have lost their lives in the Saudi airstrikes and a total of nearly 14,000 people have been injured.
Riyadh launched the military aggression in a bid to undermine the popular Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh; Presstv reported.
