Tiger Forces capture 4 villages from ISIS in east Aleppo
The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Cheetah Forces “Team 3” – imposed full control over 4 villages inside the Al-Safira Plains of east Aleppo after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) this morning.
According to a battlefield correspondent in east Aleppo, the Tiger Forces and their allies captured the villages of Al-Radawaniyah, Rayyan, Al-Qaroutiyah, and ‘Ayn Sabil while also killing over 35 enemy combatants and destroying 3 of their armored vehicles that were mounted with a variety of anti-aircraft machine guns.
The aforementioned villages are all located directly south of the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant, which has now been full secured by the Syrian Armed Forces since yesterday’s successful assault.
The majority of the ISIS fighters inside the Al-Safira Plains have reinforced the strategic villages of Al-Halabiyah, Dakwaneh, and Al-Muflisah. These villages will be very difficult to capture in the coming days, as the rough terrain and large concentration of ISIS fighters will require the Russian Air Force’s assistance in order to weaken the enemy defenses.
