Rabid dog Israelis kill another Palestinian near Ramallah
Another Palestinian has been shot dead near the city of Ramallah in the Israeli occupied West Bank as the Tel Aviv regime pushes ahead with its intensive crackdown against Palestinians.
Palestine’s Ma’an news agency said on Friday that Israeli forces shot dead the man after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli officer at a checkpoint near Beit El settlement, north of Ramallah.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the circumstances of the attempted attack, which stirred havoc inside a settlement in the area.
A later statement from an Israeli army spokesperson said troops opened fire and killed the Palestinian who attempted to stab soldiers.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the death of the Palestinian. No injuries were reported on the Israeli side.
Nearly 190 people have been killed since the outbreak of violence in the enclave five months ago. Israel claims most of those killed in the violence have been involved in stabbing attacks.
The clashes began over what the Palestinians said was a covert plan by the Israelis to change the status quo of the al-Aqsa Mosque, a highly revered place for the Muslims in the occupied East al-Quds.
Palestinians are also angry at the growing trend of settler attacks on their houses and properties in the West Bank, which they say could be a sign of Israel’s plans for expansion of illegal settlements into the enclave.
