70,000 Palestinians perform Friday prayers at al-Aqsa
Ten Thousands of Palestinian worshipers managed to perform Friday prayers at al-Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli tight restrictions throughout the occupied city of Jerusalem. More than 70,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers at the holy shrine including 200 worshipers from Gaza Strip who headed to the occupied city via Erez crossing. Israeli police forces were deployed in large numbers since the early morning hours throughout the surrounding areas of the Mosque and the Old City.
During the Friday sermon, the preacher of al-Aqsa strongly condemned the demolition of Abu Nawar School, allocated for Bedouin students in Alezariya in occupied Jerusalem. Israel is targeting our next generation by demolishing Palestinian schools, he said.
Sheikh Sabri also pointed to the “unfair” Israeli administrative detention policy, which aims to hold Palestinians in captivity without charge or trial.
