The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent deadly terrorist attack in Afghan capital, and urged firm fight against terrorism.

Police in Kabul announced that the death toll from a Taliban attack on a government security agency’s building has risen to at least 28 with more than 320 wounded.

Civilians and members of the Afghan security forces were among the dead and wounded. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a statement on Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari condemned the terrorist bombing, and expressed sympathy with the Afghan government and nation and the bereaved families of the victims.

He also underlined the importance of a decisive fight against terrorism which threatens the international community.

The latest figures released by the United Nations show that acts of terrorism and violence left 600 people dead in Afghanistan during the first quarter of the current year as the armed forces continue to battle Taliban militants.
