27 April 2016 19:28

The Turkish Army troops opened fire at the Kurdish popular forces’ bases and residential areas in a border village in the Northern province of Aleppo, Kurdish sources said.

“The Turkish army men targeted the Kurdish strongholds inside the village of Meydan Akbas in the countryside of the town of Afrin with their machineguns and inflicted major damage on the bases and also civilians’ properties,” Kurdish sources said in their social media pages.

There has not thus far been any official report about the number of civilian casualties in the attack.

A report said in mid-March that the Turkish Army troops crossed the border line with Syria in Northeastern province of Hasaka and embarked on building a wall of separation along the border.

The Turkish officials and army men, backed by several Tanks and armored vehicles, entered the territories of the small town of Tal Halaf in the Western part of Ra’as al-Ein and launched construction operation of buffer wall at eight meters inside the Syrian territories.

Earlier this month, a 100-member group of the Turkish Army troops crossed the border from Turkey to Syria’s Northwestern province of Idlib.

The Turkish soldiers crossed into the Syrian terrorist-held province of Idlib from the Bab al-Hawa border crossing.
