Palestinians Protest Murder of Adnan in ‘israeli’ Prison with General Strike

On Tuesday, stores and schools in Ramallah and al-Bireh, located in the central West Bank, remained closed and laborers refused to go to work.

The Islamic society of An-Najah National University, located in the city of Nablus in the northern part of the West Bank, suspended classes in solidarity and postponed the previously scheduled graduation ceremony for today.

In Jenin and Qalqilya, a general strike was held to remember Adnan and to speak out against Israel’s oppressive policies and their cruel treatment of Palestinian detainees.

Clashes occurred between Palestinian youth and Israeli security forces in al-Khalil in the southern West Bank, but no casualties were reported.

Following noon prayers, all Palestinian resistance groups and institutions throughout the Gaza Strip called for a general strike and urged people from all backgrounds to attend the funeral ceremony of the late Islamic Jihad leader at al-Katiba Square in Gaza City, which was held at the Square of the Unknown Soldier.

Missiles launched from Gaza towards the occupied territories

At the same time, four rockets were launched from Gaza as Israel prepared for a potential intensification of the situation.

At around 6:30 a.m. local time (0430 GMT), the Israeli military reported that sirens had sounded in the vicinity of Kibbutz Sa’ad due to three rockets being launched. None of these rockets caused any injuries or damage, as they landed in open areas.

A mortar was fired from the strip, landing near the security barrier, although no alarm was triggered, as it was aimed at an area with no people in it, according to the military.

An Israeli settler was injured after a Palestinian opened fire on Israeli vehicles in the West Bank.

On Tuesday, a Palestinian gunman shot at Israeli vehicles close to the prohibited West Bank settlement of Avnei Hefetz, causing slight harm to one settler.

At the Shufa Junction, near the Palestinian town of the same name, a gunman got out of a car and shot at three cars departing from a settlement in the northern part of the West Bank.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that a 39-year-old Israeli man, who was traveling in one of the vehicles, sustained light injuries from glass shards.

He was brought to Laniado Hospital in Netanya and assessed to be in good health.
