Car bomb attack claims four lives in Syria’s Aleppo

25 May 2016 17:35

At least four people have lost their lives after a car bomb explosion struck a road in Syria’s northwestern province of Aleppo near the Turkish border.

Syria Live Network reported that the blast took place on the road between the town of A’zaz and the village of Sejo in the northern countryside of Aleppo City, on Wednesday.

According to local media, at least 10 people have been also injured in the blast.

According to Syrian sources the blast has taken place near a gasoline station.

No group of individual has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, but Syrian officials usually blame the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group for such attacks.

The fatal assault comes two days after similar explosions, claimed by the Daesh terrorist group, rocked the coastal cities of Tartus and Jableh in the western province of Latakia, leaving at least 148 people dead.

Syria has been gripped by a foreign-backed militancy since March 2011.

According to UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, more than 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict, which has also displaced over half of the country’s population of about 23 million.
