Syria: Sources Deny ISIL’s Claims about Advances against Gov’t Forces in Homs
The sources strongly rejected rumors spread by the Takfiri terrorist groups about their victories against the Syrian government forces in the strategic highway of Palmyra-Homs.
“The ISIL launched large-scale assault on the town of Furqlus along Homs-Palmyra highway from two directions of the Um al-Tinah checkpoint and area near Murran al-Furrawah,” the sources said, adding, “The Syria Army troops repelled that the terrorists’ attacks and killed at least 22 Takfiri terrorists and destroyed their heavy machinegun.”
Earlier reports said that the Syrian military forces pushed back an ISIL attack on its positions in the Eastern part of Homs province, killing over a dozen Takfiri terrorists.
A number of the ISIL terrorists were killed in tough battle with the Syrian government troops in Um al-Tababir region in Eastern Homs.
The ISIL’s military hardware and vehicles were also destroyed by the Syrian government troops in the clashes.
