Iraq: Senior ISIL Commander, Bodyguards Killed by Unknown Attackers in Salahuddin
“The attackers stormed the ISIL communication department in the town of al-Sharqat, killed the first ISIL communication man in the region and his bodyguards and then set fire at the base,” the sources said.
“The attack on the ISIL base cut off communication among the ISIL terrorists across the province,” he added.
In relevant developments in the province on Saturday, the Iraqi joint forces continued their advances near the city of al-Sharqat in the Northern part of Salahuddin province, and seized back two strategic villages in the region.
The Iraqi forces purged the terrorists from the al-Zawiya-Makhoul intersection and took full control of al-Baydha and al-Jabariya villages near al-Sharqat city.
Scores of ISIL terrorists were killed and wounded in tough battle with the Iraqi army and popular forces.
The Iraqi volunteer forces (Hashed al-Shaabi) forces also took full control of the Southern outskirts of al-Sharqat.
