Security forces foil terror plot in Zahedan, arrest 10
In a joint operation by police force in Khash county and Intelligence Ministry’s ‘Anonymous Forces’, a terror cell planning to sabotage military bases were dismantled in southeast of Iran.
In a joint operation on Thu., the police force in Khash county in Sistan and Baluchestan Province and the ‘Anonymous Forces’ from the Ministry of Intelligence investigated a house to discover a tunnel 20 meters deep underground and stretching for 30 meters toward two important military and security bases, along with a remote explosive trap, quantities of weapons and ammunition, advanced drilling equipment, and a map of the drilling route toward these places.
During the operation, ten members of the terror cell were arrested and specialized interrogations are currently underway.
A great number of terrorist acts in Sistan and Baluchestan which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan have been neutralized before being launched. Late June, the police force of Khash managed to arrest two members of a terror team who confessed to their crimes and how they were backed by Saudi Arabia and US in advancing their goals.
Also on Thursday, Alireza Madani, the commander of the IRGC division in northwestern Salmas County in West Azarbaijan Province, in northwestern Iran, announced the dismantling of a group of four counter-revolutionary outlaws who had sneaked into Iran from neighboring Turkey. During the operation, one terrorist was killed and the other arrested, while the other two managed to flee back to Turkey.
