Iran, Syria boost Islamic proximity cooperation
Mohammad abdul Sattar al Sayied, Syria’s Minister of Awqaf (religious endowments) and Iran’s Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, have inked an agreement on mutual cooperation and efforts to protect human, economic and ideological resources of the Islamic nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
In this ceremony both sides referred to the current issues in the world of Islam, identity, culture and solidarity of Islamic nations stressing necessity of confrontation with extremist Takfiri groups.
According to the agreement a joint committee is launched by representatives of both countries in a bid to realize objective of the Islamic nation on proximity of all Islamic schools of thought.
The committee is expected to ways for cooperation and promotion of scientific and Fiq’h grounds and exchange of experiences in the field of Islamic proximity in an attempt to confront Takfiri (excommunication) thoughts.
According to the agreement the newly launched committee between Tehran and Damascus will also discuss ways for more cooperation to compile Islamic unity and Islamic resistance Fiq’h and also proposal of final recommendations for compilation of cooperation agreement between Syria’s Ministry of Awqaf and World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
