Syrian Army makes major advance in southwest Aleppo
After hours of intense clashes, units from the Syrian Army managed to capture the 1070 Hamdaniya Project, also known as Nasr Neighborhood, killing dozens of jihadist combatants in the process.
This advance shields the 3000 Apartments Project which was rumored to be the target of the upcoming jihadist offensive in Aleppo. In addition, the capture of the site merits the Syrian Army with better positioning around the Artillery College and the Hikma School in preparation for a much wider counter-offensive.
Should the Syrian Armed Forces capture Tal Mahrouqat on the other side, they would be able to exert fire control over the jihadist supply lines to the Ramousah disrict and the Artillery College, thus enforcing the siege in both east Aleppo and Shorfa-Ramousah.
