Syrian Army captures important hilltop in southern Aleppo
The battle for Umm Qara Hill was nothing short of violent these last three days, as the Syrian Armed Forces made several attempts to seize and fortify the important area in southern Aleppo.
With Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) pinned down near Al-Qarassi village, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to capitalize on the weak jihadist defenses, paving the way for their eventual capture of Tal Umm Qara yesterday.
Despite capturing Umm Qara Hill, the Syrian Armed Forces had a short window of time to fortify the area before the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh would fire a barrage of missiles and artillery shells towards their positions.
The Syrian Armed Forces successfully fortified the hilltop on Monday afternoon, leaving them in full control of the area, including the main jihadist supply route along the Khan Touman-Ramouseh Road.
