Syrian Gov’t Forces Tightening Noose on Militants in Aleppo City

3 October 2016 16:31

Syrian Army soldiers and their popular allies have taken back more positions from the terrorist groups in the Northern outskirts of Aleppo city, and are preparing to take yet another major stride in completing the siege of the terrorists, battlefield sources said Monday.

“Syrian government forces drove out Jeish al-Fatah terrorists from al-Shaqif region in the Northern outskirts of Aleppo city and launched mop-up operation in the newly-captured region,” the sources said.

“Al-Shaqif region is now under the full control of the Syrian army men and other pro-government combatants,” the sources added.

“With the seizure of al-Shaqif region, al-Kandi hospital and Handarat camp, the Syrian government forces are tightening their siege on the militants trapped in the Eastern districts of Aleppo city,” they underlined.

On Sunday, the General Staff of the Syrian Armed Forces called on terrorists in the Eastern districts of Aleppo to leave the city via the specified corridors under the protection of the country’s soldiers and their Russian allies.

The General Staff of Armed Forces, in a move to protect the civilian population, called on militants, trapped in the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city, to leave the city.

“The Russian and Syrian Army soldiers will allow the militants to leave the city through the government-established corridors without any problem,” the General Staff said, vowing to provide the militants with full assistance.
